Jane Bruning has been the National Coordinator for Positive Women Inc since September 2004. She is a mother and very proud grandmother and has been living with HIV since 1988.
Apart from having a Graduate Diploma in Not for Profit Management, Jane also has a Masters in Social Practise (MScoP) 1st Class Honours. Her thesis is entitled Stigma and Women living with HIV: A Cooperative Inquiry.
She was the Asia Pacific UNAIDS PCB NGO Delegate from 2011-2013.
Born in Holland, Jane immigrated to New Zealand at the young age of four. She is passionate about travelling, having gained a National Certificate in Travel and Tourism. She has travelled extensively and lived in Tanzania for nearly 12 years.
As the social worker here at Positive Women Inc., Marietta Chapman’s key role is to assist our members with social, emotional, psychological and practical supports.
Marietta’s career has been varied and she has worked in communications and more recently in social work. She has a Bachelor of Arts from North West University in South Africa and graduated with a Master of Social Work (Applied) degree from Massey University in April 2009. Over the years Marietta has worked for non-profit agencies, government agencies and in the health and mental health sectors.
Marietta works on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am-5pm.
Positive Speakers Bureau Coordinator
A career in both the not-for-profit and private sectors, Abby brings her knowledge and experience of building organisational capability, project management, and advocacy for sexual and reproductive health and rights, to the PWI team.
Motivated by people and the power of ‘a voice’, she is passionate about the Positive Speakers Bureau programme. Based in Wellington, Abby manages her role around her young family’s needs.
Community Engagement and Health Ambassador
Megan is bringing a diverse range of interests and experiences to Positive Women Inc. She is passionate about travel, community and family. Her events and marketing career has mainly been based in the Not for Profit sector, spanning health, community, arts, music and fashion. She has spent several years organising large scale events and managing health campaigns.
