Sperm Positive Campaign double winners at the Pressie Awards 2020
Jane Bruning, National Coordinator, Positive Women Inc. (center)
and the team at Mango Publicity and DDB
The last newsletter of the year. A very surreal, challenging and unique year at that, yet we worked our way through it, one day, and one way, at a time and have emerged to a new era and soon to a new year.
Even with all the challenges we managed to achieve a considerable amount. While we had to cancel the HIV Women’s Seminar and Retreat and also the Family Hui, we did however launch the online HIV Essentials course.
We completed the People living with HIV Stigma Index research together with other members of the Stigma Index working group, and have a fantastic report to use as an evidence based advocacy tool.

The Sperm Positive campaign won two awards. A Gold and the Grand Prix winner of the night. A project we worked together on with the New Zealand AIDS Foundation and Body Positive.
We moved to zoom support workshops and online webinar training sessions. We worked from home and had weekly zoom team meetings. We also took time out to be with our families and nurture our own mental and physical health and wellbeing. We done well.
I want to say a HUGE thank you to the marvelous operations team at Positive, Megan, Abby and Marietta. These are the people who make Positive Women Inc. the special organisation it is, which punches well above its weight considering the size of the team.
A BIG thank you to the Board members of Positive Women Inc. who volunteer their time and energy for which we are so grateful.
Also, a BIG thank you to all our funders and allies who work in the sexual health and HIV sector, and the wider community, who have supported us or worked alongside us. Thank you.
Meri Kirihimete koutou kato.
We look forward to working with you, for you and along side you in 2021.
Ma te Aroha me te atawhai, Jane
