National Coordinators October Update

By Jane Bruning

Kia ora. In September I celebrated 15 years of working at Positive Women Inc. In some ways, it seems like only yesterday but in other ways, it seems like a lifetime ago. One thing for sure is that it has been one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had.

The organisation has seen a lot of change and a lot of achievements over those years of which I am very proud. For a little organisation, with very little funding, we punch well above our weight and that is thanks to the fantastic team at Positive Women Inc. all the different Board Members over the years and especially to our members and supporters. Thank you for sharing the ride with us.

We have World AIDS Day coming up with lots of events happening the week building up to World Days Day on December 1st when there will be a great SING along in Karanga Plaza down by the Auckland Viaduct. You can find out more and see the full range of activities by clicking HERE

Octobers newsletter is our second e-newsletter. The amazing thing about doing an online newsletter through Mail Chimp is we can now see how many people are actually reading it.

The August newsletter was sent out to 506 people. Of those, 29 bounced back and 7 unsubscribed. Of the remaining 470 recipients, 183 (36.2%) opened the newsletter email and a further 53 (10.5%) clicked through to read the news articles.

Initially, that did not seem very much until we realised the average open rate is 30% and the average click-through rate is 8%. So we did above average for an e-newsletter on its inaugural launch. Thank you.

This month we said goodbye to Tony Sriamporn, our Stigma Index Coordinator who is leaving for an amazing new research job. Thank you Tony for the fantastic work you have done helping to get the Stigma Index project started. We have been very lucky to find an amazing replacement in Brooke Hollingshead who started as the New Stigma Index Coordinator on 1 October. Welcome Brooke.

As usual, lots has been happening over the past two months and we hope you enjoy reading all the different posts to hear what we have been doing at Positive Women Inc.

Nga Mihi everyone and thank you for your support.

Kind regards Jane
